2012 Syngenta Business Institute

I was very happy and honored to find out that I was one of the 25 superintendents who were chosen to attend the Syngenta Business Institute for 2012.

For the third year, Syngenta is inviting golf course superintendents across the United States to apply to attend the Syngenta Business Institute, an innovative professional business development program. Syngenta developed the program specifically for golf course superintendents, in conjunction with Wake Forest University.

The unique, four-day program is designed to grow the professional knowledge of golf course superintendents and assist them with managing their courses. The program provides information to further their experience in areas such as financial management, human resource management, negotiating, impact hiring and other leadership professional development skills. New in this year’s program is a session to help participants manage challenges concerning generational differences among their employees.

The Syngenta Business Institute is being held at the Graylyn International Conference Center on the campus of Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, N.C. on Dec 3-6th.
Superintendents must complete an application, which requires them to write a 250-word essay summarizing why they should be selected for the program. Syngenta selected 25 individuals to participate based on their essays, commitment to the industry and other factors.
