Bunker renovations #2

We have currently started repairing bunkers from the damage that occurred during the winter.  Here is an update of what we have accomplished so far:

• Greenside bunkers established on #1, #5, #6, #7, #8, #10 & #11
• Greenside bunkers on #2, #3, #4 still require some major repairs
• Complete restoration of #2 fairway bunkers

We have begun restoring the fairway bunkers on #2.  We have found the drainage in need of repair along with the removal of the contaminated sand.  The bunker liner also needed to be torn out and replaced.  Additional liner will be added to help keep sand in place and help with soil contamination. We are in the process of installing new drainage, replacing the liner, and then replacing the sand.  We will continue to focus on the fairway bunkers on #2 and then work on the greenside bunkers on #2, #3, and #4.  You can notice from the pictures just how steep the faces are on these bunkers.  Even with the help of liners, sand will have a hard time staying on this surface.
